The INDIA VIX is up 0.24% at 15.6150. Out of 1,821 stocks traded on
the NSE, 786 declined, 709 advanced and 326 remained unchanged today.
The BSE Sensex opened 61.96 points up at 27,340.72, while NSE Nifty opened 8.60 points up at 8379.30.
The S&P BSE Sensex is trading at 27,207 down 64 points, while NSE Nifty is trading at 8,347 down 23 points.
The BSE Mid-cap Index is trading down 0.03% at 11,923 whereas BSE Small-cap Index is trading up 0.07% at 12,014.
Adani Ports, ICICI Bank, Dr.Reddy's, SBI and Tata Steel are among the gainers, whereas Bajaj-Auto, NTPC, Bharti Airtel, GAIL, HDFC Bank and Hero MotoCorp are losing sheen on BSE. Some buying activity is seen in metal, capital goods, banking, industrial and consumer durables sectors, while IT, telecom, utilities, power, realty, energy and oil and gas sectors are showing weakness on BSE.

The Indian rupee opened higher by 8 paise at 67.23/$ against US Dollar on Monday as against the previous close of 67.31/$.
