The INDIA VIX is up 0.88% at 15.4425. Out of 1,793 stocks traded on the NSE, 568 declined, 802 advanced and 423 remained unchanged today.
A total of 33 stocks registered a fresh 52-week high in trades today, while eight stocks touched a new 52-week low on the NSE.
The rupee opened lower by eight paise at 67.47/$ against US Dollar on Tuesday as against the previous close of 67.39/$.
Asian markets are trading on a subdued note. Japan's Nikkei was down 0.39%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng fell 0.80% and South Korea's Kospi lost 0.90% per cent.
US markets closed lower as a drop in oil prices dragged down energy share. Oil prices fell more than $2 a barrel. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 0.13% to 17,895.88, the S&P 500 lost 0.09%, to 2,097.9 and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.36% to 4,876.81.
