Asian stocks rose on Thursday, 11 July 2013, Treasuries and metals
rose, while the dollar retreated after Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke
said the world’s biggest economy will continue to need stimulus.Key benchmark
indices in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan rose
by 1.29% to 2.12%. Japan's Nikkei Average fell 0.17%.
The 30-share barometer rose by 345.65 points to 19,640 with all
sectoral indices, led by metals and banking trading in positive zone and gains
of up to 2.22 percent. The index had lost 145.36 points in the previous
session.
Meanwhile in Asia, Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 1.31 per cent,
while Japan's Nikkei was down by 0.91 percent in early trade. The US Dow Jones
Industrial Average ended a shade lower yesterday.
