The market is poised for a weak
opening on negative Asian stocks. Asian stocks were mostly lower on the
final trading day of the week. At the opening bell ITC, ICICI Bank and GAIL
(India) unveil Q2 results today, 25 October 2013.
Asian markets declined as forecasts
from Canon Inc. to Posco disappointed investors. Key benchmark indices in
Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia and South Korea fell by
0.07% to 1.2% shown below:
- China’s Shanghai Composite slipped 0.37 percent or 7.98 points at 2,156.34.
- Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 0.22 percent or 50.15 points at 22,785.67.
- Japan’s Nikkei shed 1.08 percent or 156.51 points at 14,329.90.
- Singapore’s Straits Times fell 0.14 percent or 4.66 points at 3,213.29.
- South Korea’s Seoul Composite was down 0.74 percent or 15.06 points at 2,031.63.
- Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted fell 0.36 percent or 30.38 points at 8,383.34.
