Stock Market Closing News:
The BSE Sensex recovered from a
selloff post Reserve Bank's policy announcement and ended higher for the second
day.
Sensex ended 184 points higher at 25,908 while Nifty added 63
points to 7,746.
Gains were led by auto and consumer durables shares, which outperformed the broader markets. Cement stocks also saw sharp up-move.
Rate sensitive stocks bounced back with auto stocks such as M&M, Bajaj Auto and Tata Motors leading the rally. The BSE auto sub-index rose over 2 per cent.
UltraTech Cement was the top Nifty gainer, up 5.3 per cent, followed by ACC and Ambuja Cements, which rose nearly over 4 per cent. Grasim Industries shares also ended 3.7 per cent higher.
